With a glorious history which spans across more than two decades, the Aprilia Scarabeo is one of the iconic scooters in Europe and even across the Atlantic. In order to celebrate the longevity of the family, Aprilia surfaces a new generation of machines, with the new 100 4T being the best bang for the buck.
This machine comes with a 96.2cc, 4-stroke single-cylinder engine with forced air cooling, fed by a carburetor with variable electronic ignition. The engine has a wet sump architecture with a dedicated oil pump, but the centrifugal clutch remains a dry one. The Scarabeo 100 4T rolls with a tubular steel frame, and has received new, 16” spokes cast wheels, with wider-section tires for better grip through turns.

Stopping power is provided by a 220mm floating front rotor and an 140mm rear drum, but no ABS is mentioned. The tank can hold 8.5 liters (2.25 US gal) of petrol, and even though no fuel economy figures have been made public so far, we can assume the Scarabeo 100 4T will provide an impressive range.

The 100 4T also comes with a color-matched top case which can accommodate a jet helmet, an USB-equipped compartment where your can store and recharge your gadgets and smartphones. Aprilia went a bit back in time as far as the design of the new Scarabeo is concerned, and re-interpreted some of the cues of the yesteryear scooters, with the new headlight being the most eloquent element. The revised dash graphics matches the LED tail light, for a modern take on the old-school scoots.

It looks like the new Scarabeo 100 4T is already selling in dealerships, for a base price of €2,660 ($3,645).
