If you're into limited edition motorcycles which tell a story, then the new 2013 RSV4 Factory APRC ABS SBK Special Edition is definitely your game. Aprilia has decided to build a limited run of bikes evoking Max Biaggi's 2012 win in the Worlds SuperBike Series, and it seems like it will only be available in North America.
The Special Edition retains all the nifty features of the RSV4 Factory APRC ABS, but also brings some changes, both important and minute. On the big changes, the RSV4 Factory APRC ABS SBK Special Edition comes with the new Bosch 3-level dual-channel ABS system and the new M430 Brembo calipers.
More subtle changes are represented by the revised traction control and Wheelie Control mappings, small modifications in engine positioning, tank volume increase to 4.8 gal (18.5 L) and ergonomics, a 5mm lower seat and satin finish for the headlight.
The RSV4 delivers 181.4 hp and 86.3 lb-ft (more than 116 Nm) @10,500 rpm, while the new 200/55-17 rear tire can also be fitted to the 2013 RSV4 R APRC ABS. You can tell the Special Edition by the Italian flag on the fairing and red bellypan. Prices to be announced soon, while the bike is due to arrive in dealerships in April.
