The Mana X was unveiled at EICMA two weeks ago and this is designed to be a stylish bike, meant to convince European city-dweller in their twenties to give up scooters. The beautiful concept bike uses the Aprilia Mana's CVT and a scooter-style bar-mounted rear brake lever.
Rumors say that the Mana isn't such a big seller, so Aprilia are trying to make the bike more appealing to the public. The Mana X is just a simple redesign of the old one, but the end result is a much better looking. The bike was done by Miguel Galluzzi, who designed the first Ducati Monster in 1992. "All you need is a saddle, tank, engine, two wheels, and handlebars," as the stylist said on the Ducati website.
The Mana X is styled like a mini vintage bike, which means that is the average teenager should love it. With its exhaust pipes mounted underneath the chassis, two robot eye headlamps and classic wheels, it is a must have fashion icon. The most beautiful detail must be the back lamps that are meant to look like the horns of a little devil.
The Mana X is powered by a twin cylinder 850cc V engine at 90°, with electronic sportgear transmission and tubular trellis chassis. Its rear wheel was designed at first for Harley's FXDF Fat Bob, but the 180/70-16 Dunlop D427 woks well on this one.
Braking is up to wave-style rotors and the Brembo-like, radial-mount calipers found on the Mana, Shiver and the Dorsoduro.
