Aoyama Confirms MotoGP Entry with Emmi Caffe Latte

Yuki Takahashi might have been ousted by Team Scot from their MotoGP lineup this season, but another Japanese rider is preparing to make his debut in the premier motorcycling class next year. We're talking about the current leader of the quarter-liter class Hiroshi Aoyama, who was yesterday confirmed by Emmi Caffe Latte for the upcoming MotoGP season.

The Swiss team, ran by Daniel M Epp, is currently a 125cc and 250cc entrant and will debut itself into the MotoGP series in 2010 as Honda customer team. The team is now running Aprilia machineries after previously winning a championship crown with a Honda bike supplier, back in 2005.

“We are pleased to announce that we have completed a deal to run a Honda RC212V in the MotoGP class in the 2010 season. After winning the World Championship in 2005 with Tom Luthi on the 125cc Honda, it's a great pleasure for me to join up again with Honda,” said Epp after making the announcement of Aoyama's signing.

“Now, after all these years we have finally been able to achieve our dream of presenting a MotoGP project. We are proud to become part of the premier class of motorcycle grand prix racing,” added the Swiss official.

Epp is yet to announce the further details regarding his MotoGP project for next season, but he is expected to hold a press conference next month, following the season finale at Valencia.

As for Aoyama, the Japanese rider is currently leading the 250cc class by a massive 26 points from Spanish rider Alvaro Bautista, with only 3 rounds to go.
