Another Scirocco Tune – Mcchip This Time

Not a week will pass without a Scirocco tuning kit, at least until Volkswagen comes up with something cooler. That's the conclusion we've reached after seeing all the tuners rushing to pimp this revamped old legend. We're guessing the attention the Scirocco is getting from the tuning market is only a testament of the good job the German manufacturer has done in order to keep the legend of this car alive.

The new customization kit from Mcchip focuses more on performance than looks as it boosts the engine and overall performance but leaves the looks of the car almost unaltered from the stock version – perfect for those of you who are into “sleepers”.

Like the name of the tuner says, the engine was given a new engine chip that allows the car to run at greater speeds than the original version. The 2.0 TFSI motor has a power increase from 200 hp to 246 hp, taking the torque all the way up to 255 foot-pounds. And besides, this little upgrade is a bargain at the grand price of 849 euros ($1,082).

The other tuning options in this kit are the stainless steel sport exhaust pipes which give the car a louder, earthy tone and a new H&R coilover suspension kit for improved handling – a must if you take into consideration the fact that the car will now be able to roll at higher speeds.

And to put the finishing touches on their project, Mcchip has also fitted a set of 19-inch OZ alloy wheels, hugged by Michelin PS 235/35 Cup tires. These babies will not only make your ride look cool but will also give you extra grip on the tarmac when you put your foot down.

Overall price for the kit is $3,230, which is a decent amount of cash to spend on your new Scirocco if you don't have your eye set on completely transforming it into something radical.
