Another Rare Spotting in China: BMW E46 M3 Convertible

The BMW E46 M3 Convertible was never produced in China, even though the BMW-Brilliance joint venture did give birth to the E46 Sedan in China. The car manufactured between 2001 and 2006 was never built in China and imports were few, to say the least.

That means that when you see one of these beauties on the streets of China you have to share it with the world. The one we're looking at is a pre-facelift version, made between 2001 and 2003. In this case, the engine depends on the country for which this car was built for.

The Euro version had the S54 naturally aspirated 6-cylinder 3.2-liter engine delivering 343 HP and 269 lb-ft of torque (365 Nm) and a 5.5 second sprint to 100 km/h. The US version had the same engine but with 338 HP and 262 lb-ft (355 Nm) of torque and a 0 to 62 mph time of 5.6 seconds.

However, judging from the photos and the fact that the turn signal lights are not turned on when the car is rolling down the street we can say this model came from Europe and the spotting was done around the great city of Guangzhou in Guangdong Province.
