One lucky forum member found a mint condition E24 M6 this Sunday while browsing the Craigslist ads for California. At first the ad sounded to good to be true, but he decided to give it a shot.
The ad said that the car posted for sale had almost $50,000 invested in it and that it was in excellent condition. In the seller's exact words: "$12,000 paint and all new rubber, $2,500 BBS 17 " rims, $9,000 new M3 brakes, $3,000 M5 suspension, $5,000 alpine radio and GPS system, $4,000 modern air conditioner, $2,500 leather front seats, dash board has no defects, car looks new inside and out . All systems work, both factory on board computers, all dash lights, power mirrors, seats. No motor or transmissions leaks. The car looks new even though it has 158,000 miles."

Few of us would trust an ad that said that all of that came as a package in the shape of a E24 M6 for the price of $12,000. However, chance favors the brave. So our friend picked up the phone and called the specified number.

A few hours later he was driving his brand new E24 M6. Fortunately for him, the seller was sincere about the car and everything specified in the ad was true. The car feels and drives as if it was new, despite the 160,000 miles on the odometer.
