When a McLaren Senna catches fire while lapping a circuit, which is what happened earlier today in Austria, people are obviously going to fret. However, when this is not the first example of the Woking hypercar to go up in flames, sparks will fly everywhere.
First of all, let's discuss the flaming incident that took place on the Red Bull Ring earlier in the day.

The car, which belongs to an aficioando known as Gercollector, was being paraded by F1 champion Gerhard Berger at the time. It looks like the racer showed swift reaction, pulling over to the side of the track quickly after flames burst out of the engine compartment.

Luckily, track marshals showed reactions that were just as quick, with the driver and the passenger (it doesn't look like the said collector was the one riding shotgun at the time) escaping the incident unharmed.

In fact, here's the owner explaining the trouble on social media: "The fire started during a parade lap with Formula 1 champion, Gerhard Berger behind the wheel and fortunately it was quickly extinguished by the Austrian marshals on site. Both the driver and passenger were able to quickly exit and are fine having stepped out of the car unharmed,"

It looks like the damage is extremely limited, with the vehicle now obviously being taken back to the mother ship for investigations.

"The quick responses by those involved prevented more than minimal damage to the rear right section of the vehicle which will now be transported back to McLaren for them to start an investigation as to the cause of the fire," Gercollector states.

Now, the said aficionado keep a group of pristine-condition machines in one of the most impressive garages on the Internet, so there are no reasons to doubt the maintenance of the vehicle, but we still need more details on the matter before we can draw a conclusion.

Unfortunately, this is the third McLaren Senna to have such issues. it all started with the example owned by YouTuber Salomondrin, whose situation was more serious, since the car caught fire in Los Angeles (it happened last December).

Subsequently, another US-registered Senna started smoking and panicked everybody, even though there were no flames visible - the problem showed up back in March.

And while you can check out the previous incidents in the Instagram clips below the two posts showcasing the Red Bull Ring moment, here's to hoping McLaren gets to the bottom of this.

Update:Here's another photo that does a better job at capturing the fiery episode:
