Mercedes has made efforts to be sure that its flagship coupe, the CL, offers a feeling of luxury, with the designers working together with engineers to deliver this.
However, in the automotive industry there’s always room for more and Anderson Germany comes to demonstrate this. The tuning house has played with the range-topper CL65 AMG, releasing the Anderson Germany Mercedes-Benz CL65 Black Edition.
The transformation started under the hood, where the mighty V12 engine received sports air filters, a performance exhaust system that uses plasma coating and larger pulleys, as well as an ECU remap. The powerplant now allows the driver to play 670 hp.
The exterior of the coupe received a carbon pack consisting of door mirrors, window frames, front grill, door handles, hatchback panel, ventilator frames for the bonnet. The same finish is used for certain engine compartment elements. The car has also been fitted with a rear lip spoiler and was dressed in a black stain matte paint.
The CL now rides on 22 inch lightweight rims than come with a black/gloss finish, also using carbon edgings. These use Michelin tires - 275/22 for the front axle and 295/25 for the rear one.
The interior also received a complete makeover, getting diamond-patterned leather, a carbon finish for multiple elements and a complex entertainment system. The customers are free to choose from a long list of interior modifications.
“A generation in advance: With the CL, ANDERSON GERMANY has created a new category of vehicles which, for the first time, has combined the elegance and dynamic of a Coupe with the performance of a sports car,” stated the press release.
