Italy’s Bad Bike announces the Beach Vintage Side, advertised as the first electric sidecar bicycle in the world. With an exceptionally retro-styled design this pedelec is a truly wonderful choice for riders who want to have their kids by their side during a city ride. Even more, the sidecar is also a very valuable helping hand for those using the bike for daily shopping or commuting.
The Beach Vintage Side comes with a rechargeable 360W battery, which can provide up to 70 km o assisted pedaling. It feeds a 250W rear hub motor, which is the standard trim for the bike. Using this version does not involve any ownership taxes, doesn’t make insurance or registration necessary. However, Bad Bike has a 500w motor offered optionally, but riding it comes with the legal obligations scooter riders have, including a helmet.

With a mass of 30 kg (66 lbs), the Beach Vintage Side can carry up to 120 kg (265 lbs), and comes with telescopic forks and sprung saddle, but no suspension is available for the sidecar. Everything is made from aluminium, to keep things on the light side, and the bike is available in either polished aluminium or matte black.

Beach Vintage Side comes with a 7-speed gearbox, and the pedal assist will be effective up to the speed of 25 km/h (15.5 mph). The 10Ah 36V has an 800 cycles life and a 2-year warranty, whereas the frame is warranted for 7 years. The 250W version costs €2,400 ($3.310), while the 500W model will set you back with €2,700 ($3,725).
