We all know the feeling when you can't wait to wake up in the morning and see if the offer you had been waiting for has finally surfaced. Well, when it comes to Scottish singer Amy MacDonald, the offer is a $400,000-plus deal.
OK, there's no way to soften the blow of this piece, so we'll cut to the chase: the artist is getting a 2017 Ford GT! The news comes as quite a surprise, since those following Amy's car aficionado side knows how much she loves Ferrari.
As for the morning feeling described in the intro, the songwriter's email was hit with a letter from Ford at 5:54 AM, letting her know she is one of the lucky 500 who have been deemed eligible for the supercar purchase - do keep in mind that 6,006 prospective owners didn't make the cut.
"Dear Amy, Congratulations! You've been selected for the opportunity to purchase a new Ford GT. Your passion for performance and for the Ford GT qualifies you to be among a small number of drivers selected for the opportunity to own a new Ford GT. We are thrilled to extend you this opportunity!" the email reads.
In fact, those of you who have been following our Ford GT stories should already be familiar with this letter, since we brought it to you yesterday, along with the dreaded rejection version of the email destined for the thousands mentioned above.
Those of you who are swept off their feet by the news should've paid closer attention to Amy's appearance on (the old) Top Gear - when the artist explained how she went from an Audi R8 V8 to a V10 and then to an R8 GT, with Jeremy Clarkson testing her, things became obvious.
Returning to her Ferrari side mentioned above, Amy used to own a 458 and now has a 488 GTB - Le Mans God forgive the drivers who mix such a Prancing Horse with a Ford GT after the Blue Oval racer blew off the Fezza on the Circuit de la Sarthe back in June.
Now that we've opened Amy's box, we've decided to add some of her Instagram posts below, so you can check out the other sides of her motoring life.
