AMS Performance Builds the World’s Fastest... Hearse

Here’s something you don’t see every day - an utterly fast and mean-looking hearse. This crazy dragster that was built by AMS Performance has no less than 1,000 HP under the hood and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in only 2.9 seconds. How’s that for funeral speed?!

Dubbed AMS “Madness”, the vehicle is actually a 1996 Chevrolet Caprice-based hearse motivated by a GM 6.0-liter V8 engine. It also features an Edelbrock Super Vic intake, Speed Inc. custom camshaft, ARP head studs, Yates EFI custom engine harness, Wilwood brakes and many more.

The company says this crazy hearse can run the quarter mile in 9.94 seconds @ 137.36 mph (221 km/h) and that it had set a new top speed record of over 160 mph (257 km/h) at the Chicago WannaGoFast 1/2 mile.
