Now that the Focus RS has finally landed on US shores, the American aftermarket frenzy is slowly, but steadily taking over the manic hatch. After British tuner Mountune, who also operates in the US, announced its three-stage plan for the 2016 Focus RS, AMS Performance is now targeting the all-wheel-drive bomb.
The Chicago-based developer has recently announced its Blue Oval hot hatch intentions and thins are looking tech-majestic. The company has taken delivery of a Frozen White Focus RS, gifted with the optional forged 19-inch wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubber.
The "immediate plans" include a carbon fiber (of course) air intake, an intercooler upgrade, as well as a 3-inch titanium exhaust system, downpipe included. So yes, you'll be able to hear the thing from quite a distance.
Once these goodies find their way into the all-wheel-drive beast, the specialist is planning a bolt-on Garrett GTX turbo move, with wastegate testing having already started - be prepared for all the wrap-stu-tu-tu that's coming our way.
While the Cobb Accesport ECU solution shouldn't come as a surprise, at least for those following our 2016 Focus RS stories, we're glad to announce a Manley internals upgrade, which means the dyno run will end with impressive numbers.
"Recently we’ve been releasing some new parts for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X such as a Titanium Exhaust and new 2.2L Stroker Engine so things are already ramping up for this segment. In addition some of our Volkswagen Golf R parts are weeks away from release so things are really heating up here for the AMS brand," the tuner explains when talking about its latest Blue Oval project.
Heck, it's enough to check out the monumental efforts these guys are doing in the GT-R arena (read: world record efforts) to start day-dreaming about how extreme their 2016 Focus RS take will be.
