Have you been asking all of your friends for ideas of things to spend your $300,000 on lately? If the answer is no, it means you’re just one of the millions people who will look at this puppy with amazement, wishing one day they’ll win the lottery and buy it.
So what if you’re driving a 1990 Honda to work and you hate you’re neighbor who just came home with a brand new Bimmer he got as a gift from his rich wife? That doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to dream one day you’ll afford anything too. And here’s where Hammacher Schlemmer famous online shop comes in, a retailer that is always going to stay busy looking for the latest, most expensive things that reach the market.

One of their new arrivals is none other than a personal submersible, you know, one of those things you’ll most likely never buy. In the rare case you’re actually planning to do so, however, we’ll take the time to tell more about it.

Since it’s half under the water and half atop of it, you can both dive and sail

According to the source, the half-submersible watercraft provides full viewing options and it’s capable of driving off a trailer and into the water without the need for a crane, tender vessel or dock. It's composed of a buoyant above-water upper hull and two-person cockpit that provides 180 degrees surface views and an inverted one-and-a-half-inch thick acrylic hemisphere below that provides two additional passengers with underwater views.

The passengers sitting above will also be in control of the two horizontally oriented underwater thrusters that provide up to 6 knots forward and 4 knots backward movement. When there’s no water to cruise on, each of the craft’s ground track systems are driven by dedicated 48-volt intercooled electric motors, enabling their heavy-duty rubber tracks.

Since the tracks enable 360 degree axis turns, the amphibious sub-surface watercraft is basically able to transform into a lightweight tank while being on land. And you’re not going to have to worry about running out of battery since two 24-volt lithium banks will provide 110 hours of water operation and up to 8 hours on land.

Are we living James Bond times or what?
