Amphibious Lamborghini Countach Replica Is $27,000, Worth Every Penny

You'd never be able to get away with a fake Lamborghini Countach. You might fool a few people assuming it were a very good replica, but the second people would realize it's a scam, they would instantly label you as a poser.
If the car were also able to navigate through water, now that would change the way things stand considerably. Passers-by would look around for cameras, thinking they accidentally ran in on the set of the next James Bond movie, and if you bore even the slightest resemblance to Daniel Craig, you'd be assaulted for autographs.

In all fairness, any car that continues to look like a normal vehicle but is also able to dip its toes in the water is a winner in our book. It may not be the most useful feature for most of us, but if you're a fishing addict, nothing compares to reeling in your catch through the small opening of the Countach side window. Now that's a fishing story nobody's going to believe.

In case you're wondering how or why somebody went the trouble of making an amphibious car that looks like an old Italian supercar, the answer is pretty simple: Hollywood. Well, Britsh tv shows first, but it eventually made it to Hollywood as well. In fact, the car was built as a right-hand drive, was converted to a left-hand drive during its time in the USA, then back to right-hand drive when it returned in the UK where it currently resides.

Its seller says the car works just fine, but it is going to need some work. And when he begins to list what needs to be done, your enthusiasm for owning a car that looks just like a Countach (the body has been molded from a Countach 5000QV) and isn't afraid of water might begin to diminish:

"Work required after being stored:
The O/S door has been removed from the frame and the N/S stripped down as the lock pivots seized – Personally I would not have done that this way. However, either way they will need reassembly and paint as necessary. New door rams needed and wing mirrors. The carpet has been removed and will need replacement. The seats have gone AWOL!!?? It will need a major service before driving and swimming.......The engine is spinning well and clutch is working ok. Fuel pipe to tank is perished. Perishing to tyres and the brakes will obviously need to be serviced as necessary. Obviously there will be other bits and bobs to do but oh, will it be so worthwhile!
"

Go ahead, bid for it, you know you want to. And don't worry about it not being a real Countach. It's probably got more stories to tell than any of the original Lamborghinis, so it certainly doesn't lack personality even though it tries to pass as something it isn't. And to get a 2 in 1 car+boat package for just a little over $27,000, that's what they call a steal.

Just so you get a better idea of what you're buying, here is a not-amphibious Lamborghini trying to act like one:
