AMG-Version of the B-Class Caught Testing

The Mercedes-Benz B-Class W246 has been around for just a tad over two years now, but the Germans are already hard at work testing a slightly camouflaged model.

With a development pre-production prototype caught so soon on the road it would mean that either the facelift will arrive as early as next year - which would be completely against the Mercedes-Benz norm in the last decade or so – or that there's a new version in the pipeline.

Judging by the AMG wheels, the two exhaust tips that are integrated in the rear bumper and the camouflaged front apron that looks like it has the same size and overall shape of an AMG one, we can only speculate that this will be the top model of the B-Class range.

We're not talking about a B 45 AMG model though, since that would be a little too extreme for a compact family car like the B-Class, but more like something in the likes of the old A 210 Evolution, if anyone remembers it.

Of course, these are all speculations and our spy photographer told us this is an early prototype for the facelift that will be released all the way in 2015. We disagree with his take, even though we have no other conclusive information ourselves. Expect more info about whatever model it is in the following months.
