The fact that the car is a Mercedes-Benz, from the days when they used to build their cars properly, may also count for something. If they had strapped the same quad bike to the back/roof of, say, an Alfa Romeo from the same period, the couldn’t have done so, because the roof would have rotted away long ago.
Still, you’ve got to love the guy’s ingenuity - why hire a company which will arrive late, overcharge you and then drop the quad on its side right in front of your house claiming that they’re sorry and the insurance company will cover the damages; then you wait for 6 months before you ever get to see the money to repair the quad which you had already sold as damaged, 6 months prior.
