Portugal's Ton-Up Garage has become one of the revered names in bike customization for that part of Europe, renowned for the simplicity they add to each of the machines leaving their workshop. Knowing that stripping parts from the bike can be just as cool as adding some more, Ton-Up are clearly creating a style of their own... and we like that.
Amazonia's brief was “off-road looks and capabilities retaining on-road performance” so the first thing TUG did was to toss out the airbox and replace it with a better breather. The stock suspension also went away, as Öhlins progressive springs replaced the OEM units in the fork and new rear shocks came in place.
Off-road pegs and handlebars were installed, and knobby tires now shoe the black rims. A Lucas tail light complements the new attire of the bike, while the offset headlight makes the bike stand from the crowd. A Zard scrambler dual exhaust was fitted to maintain the original design of the bike, and a jerry can was transformed into a side case.
The 2012 Triumph Scrambler received a matte green paint job and with the rest of the bike painted black, it evokes the military bike of yore. Add in the miniature Motogadget gauge and the Ton-Up custom two-seater saddle and the Amazonia is ready to carve the city and hit the trail. Splendid machine!
