It’s a busy week ahead for German car maker Audi, as it tries to make the e-tron SUV it revealed on Monday as visible as possible for all potential customers, by gradually releasing information about the car, its features and the services that are to go with it.
Targeting all modern-day buyers, Audi had to make more than a car. It had to fit it with the right equipment, offer the latest tech and provide the easiest-to-access services. And at first glance, it appears to have done so.
The collaboration between Audi and Amazon for the new e-tron was announced ever since Tuesday when the brand said the Alexa voice assistant will be available for the electric SUV’s drivers. Not long after that, this partnership deepened with news that Amazon Home Services will lend a helping hand in the e-tron roll-out.
As per the agreement signed between the two, Amazon’s partner handymen can be scheduled to install an EV charger at the buyers’ homes or offices. The Amazon website will also provide customers with information about how to use the equipment, view the pricing for the electrical services provided or just read reviews.
All the work done by the people commissioned on Amazon’s website will be covered by the company’s Happiness Guarantee.
“When Audi does electric, we do it by bringing our customers the utmost in convenience and premium experience,” said in a statement Scott Keogh, president of Audi of America.
“In addition to our customers being able to reserve their e-tron online, we’re proud to work with a similarly customer-centric company like Amazon to make in-home charging simple and convenient for e-tron buyers.”
Amazon and Audi set up a special extension to the retailer’s website to handle this e-tron business. At the time of this writing, there are no services available.
