Amazing Extra Terrestrial Vehicle Is Based on the Aveo

It takes a really creative mind to think they can turn a boring little Chevrolet Aveo into something that looks like this. It makes even the Pagani Zonda look ordinary and dated.

Florida-based company The Car Factory took the modest Chevy Aveo, ripped off its skin, and built this incredible mod around the underlying frame. Mike Vetter and other crew members built the car’s unbelievable new body, assembling it into such a stunningly futuristic shape. This Extra Terrestrial Vehicle, or ETV, is just the thing if you want to stand out wherever you go.

The car, if we can still call it that, offers a two-seater configuration. Access to the futuristic interior is made through a pair of gull-wing doors that even have two round windows shaped like portholes. The engine is placed in the rear and comes with a futuristic ribbed cover. There is room in the front for a small piece of luggage, but if you are planning a long trip into outer space, you should pack light.

Mike, who also works on Carrera GT replica bodies for the Porsche Boxster, claims on his website that buyers can opt for either an Aveo or a Boxster donor car, though we can’t imagine that anyone would give up a Porsche just to look like Captain Kirk. If you want this machine sitting in your driveway, you can buy it from Car Factory but your wallet or bank account will be lighter by $86,000 (EUR65,000). Considering the amount of work involved, that price is probably reasonable. In order to further create a spaceship feel for the driver, the company is currently working on an electric version of the ETV.
