Alyssa Milano Buys a Volt and a Leaf

Tough times ahead for Alyssa Milano's family, as the battle of the EVs will be moving right into her house. The actress, after being impressed to tears (her words) by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico earlier this year decided, together with her husband, to do their part.

And since going all the way to the Gulf to clean up whatever oil smudges are left is out of the question, the single way the two could have played their parts was to buy the new, trendy electric vehicles.

The star announced in an interview with celebritybabyscoop.com that she ordered herself a Nissan Leaf, while the male member of the family will get a Chevrolet Volt (a car which, by the way, was built using oil-soaked materials from the huge BP spill).

“After the oil spill, I had this strong feeling that if I ever were to be blessed in having children, I never wanted my kids to see me pumping gas at a gas station," the actress motivated her decision.

"I think it's our responsibility to make the changes that we need to take regardless of convenience. I know it's more inconvenient to have an electric car, but I'll do what I have to do. I'm also a vegetarian. I have 5 dogs and 10 horses and about 90 percent of them are rescues."

Now that we know all that about Alyssa, we can go to bed and wait for the Nissan press release announcing the delivery of the car to the star's front porch or something. GM on the other hand will issue no press release about delivering the Leaf to “Milano's husband.” Leaf 1, Volt 0.
