The first SUV from Alpina was released this month at the Geneva Motor Show. It features an upgraded 350 HP diesel engine with 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque and today just got its first commercial.
The Alpina XD3 SUV is not showing just impressive performance, but also incredible fuel consumption numbers. The German tuner claims that the combined efficiency of the tri-turbo engine is rated at 6.8 l/100km (34.5 mpg) whilst CO2 emissions add up to 180 g/km.
As with any Alpina car, the performance has been slightly improved, whilst viability was not affected. The SUV accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds (just .2 seconds slower than an X5 M) and has a top speed of 253 km/h.
In the commercial, the founder of Alpina, Mr. Burkhard Bovensiepens presents the reasons behind creating the fist SUV in the company's history and the new features fitted on the XD3.
