It was 1961 when BMW presented the 1500 model at the Frankfurt Motor Show and inspired Burkard Bovensiepen to develop an even better car, based on that first model.
His version came out with no less than 4 carburetors, taking the power output from 80 HP to 92 HP, in a time when cars usually had around 50-60 HP to work with. Those were impressive numbers and in 1962 BMW decided to allow Mr. Bovensiepen and his company to work with their engineers to develop a special brand of automobiles.

That's how the famed BMW-Alpina collaboration started, bringing another master crafter into the world, giving us the chance to witness greatness on the road.

Today, Alpina is making some exquisite cars for the road, despite having an impressive background in racing also, with names such as Nicki Lauda racing for them over the years.

However, their most valuable contribution to the world came in the shape of luxurious cruisers like the B7 and B6 models, cars that are as good as proper M performance vehicles but a lot more comfortable.
