Alpina B6 Gran Coupe Shows Up in Abu Dhabi Wearing Manhart Bonnet

At the moment, Alpina has one car in its line-up that’s faster than its BMW M counterpart. Care to guess which one it is? Yes, it’s the Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe. A couple of obvious reasons make it faster than the M car but Alpina isn’t necessarily all about speed.

You see, the famous tuner / manufacturer likes speed but wants to achieve it in style, especially compared to what others are showing today on the tuning market. Alpina is know as being a stylish, classy upgrade to the BMW range.

One such B6 Gran Coupe model was just spotted in the Abu Dhabi dealership, the one that we’ve come to know as one of the most luxurious on the planet. It’s also the place you want to go for some really interesting tuning hybrids.

This is no exception. The overall classy body of the Alpina was adorned with a hideous Manhart vented bonnet. Don’t get us wrong, we like Manhart’s product, but it really doesn’t make sense on an Alpina Gran Coupe, it just doesn’t fit.

The fastest car Alpina made

Apart from being faster than the M6 Gran Coupe, the B6 is also faster than anything the tuner ever put in production. The 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 under its bonnet was taken up to 540 HP and 730 Nm (538 lb-ft) of torque, but that’s not the secret that turned this four seater into a fast beast.

The secret that made it faster that the RWD M6 is the xDrive all-wheel drive system this car has. Thanks to it, the power and torque can be put down more efficiently, in turn sending the Alpina up to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds.

It’s not cheap either, as you probably expected. This kind of performance can be your for at least €126,500 in Germany or $117,300 in the US.
