Porsche has been making the 911 for a while now, and despite being very tail happy for its first few generations, it has now reached a level of handling and finesse unimaginable when it was first launched. Porsche also make the even better balanced Cayman, a more powerful hardtop version of the Boxster which they keep underpowered despite the fact that it could easily take more power.
Thankfully, a German company, Alpha-N performance is here to sort that out, by launching their new Alpha-One, a car based on the Cayman, but with much more power. From a styling standpoint, its Porsche roots are clear, but with more rear overhang and different design, we say it has a look of its own which suits it quite well - it also seems to have a bit of 918 Spyder added into the mix, but since it is a Porsche, we don’t really mind, as it looks OK.

The company isn’t giving away too many details on the powertrain side, but their claimed figures of between 300 and 800 hp seem easily achievable, even without an engine swap, as the Cayman’s flat six can, as well as its chassis can cope with a lot more power. Also, considering the fact that the people behind it are a bunch of engineers from the former Brabham Racing, this should work out well - we can’t wait to see this car in action!
