Alonso to Shave Three Musketeers-Style Beard Before Bahrain

A lot of people were somehow surprised of the look debuted by Fernando Alonso in 2011. Probably keeping his admiration for Alexandre Dumas' characters hidden in recent years, the Spaniard let it all out shortly after the New Year's Eve, when he appeared at the Wroom wearing a D'Artagnan-style goatee.

And the 2-time world champion did not leave his three-musketeer style look aside at the media event hosted by Ferrari last week either, when the new F150 challenger was unveiled to the world via an Internet-broadcasted presentation. So the media started wondering whether this is only one of Alonso's moody looks or if he intends to keep it though the 2011 campaign.

I don't think so. My mother doesn't want it,” confirmed Alonso for Reuters during his first test with the F150, when asked it he's going to keep the beard until mid-March, when the new F1 season kicks off in Bahrain.

Moving on to more important issues, the Spaniard confirmed that the seating position for the new challenger has been modified in recent days due to its high-nose design. As both Alonso and Massa are not known to be the tallest of the F1 drivers out there, they had difficulties when approaching the corners of the Fiorano track on Saturday, at the wheel of the F150.

We've had to change it (the seating position) as visibility could be a problem,” said Alonso after the test in Italy, a running performed by both him and teammate Massa for promotional purposes.

Ferrari will debut the new F150 for real tomorrow morning, on Valencia's Ricardo Tormo circuit, when F1 testing kicks off.
