Alonso Does Seat-Fitting Session at Maranello

Fernando Alonso revealed, during a chat session he had with the Ferrari fans on the team's official website, that he has already arrived at Maranello for the pre-season seat-fitting with the Scuderia. As you all know by now, Ferrari are currently tackling their last development stage of the 2010 challenger, and the seat-fitting is crucial for Fernando Alonso before the testing season kicks off in early February.

As Felipe Massa has been racing Ferraris for years, the Spaniard is the only one who needs to do the seat-fitting session, as his overall weight and height differ from his predecessor Kimi Raikkonen. Consequently, he also gave the fans a piece of mind regarding the 2010 car, telling them that it only needs a few more adjustments prior to the official launch next Thursday.

It’s almost ready. I’m here in Maranello today to prepare the seat and other things connected to the debut on the track. I think that the Ferrari will be competitive and I really hope to bring the Drivers’ Title here to Maranello,” said Alonso during the aforementioned chat session.

Ferrari's new chassis will reportedly bear the 281 designation and was confirmed to be launched by the Scuderia on January 28.

In addition, Alonso praised the great relationship between the team members at Maranello, as he admitted it made him easier to feel as a part of the new team.

What impressed me the most was the atmosphere. Everybody here lives and breathes racing and has the passion for it. And then I really like that people talk to each other here and they don’t write emails although they sit right in front of each other,” added Alonso.
