Nissan's 300ZX got to see the daylight in 1983 in Japan, and a year later, made its way to the States, eventually becoming one rather successful sports car that helped the Japanese brand consolidate its position in this side of the market.
The first-generation model, also referred to as Z31, was originally unveiled in September 1983 on the Japanese domestic market as Fairlady Z, and it came with a 3-door coupe body with a 2+2 seating configuration. Nissan, however, focused a lot on exports, as nearly 295,000 units out of the close to 330,000 cars produced by the company for the first generation were sent to other markets.

Fortunately, someone out there has perfectly preserved one of the exported examples to keep it in what is being described as “museum quality,” therefore allowing us to admire the beauty of the original 300ZX in all its glory even after all these years.

Listed on eBay as part of an online auction, this 1988 300ZX is a fully original model that comes with 60K miles (96,560 km) on the clock, and the owner guarantees it is in “showroom condition.

Judging from the photos you can also see in the gallery, this is indeed true, as not a single spot of rust can be found on the car.

It comes with new tires, struts, and shocks, and everything works just like new. The paint is still the original one sprayed by Nissan when it manufactured the car, and the interior looks untouched, as if the vehicle has never been driven.

The build sheet and the manuals go with the car, and the Nissan also sells with a clean California title, according to the listing. The V6 engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and obviously runs like new, which means this 300ZX is ready to become your daily driver if that’s what you’re interested in.

As we said, the price isn’t as high as you’d expected it to be, as the highest bid at the time of writing is $9,500. However, the reserve is yet to be met with less than a day left until the auction comes to an end.
