All-New Nissan Sylpy Launched in Japan

The all-new Nissan Sylpy has already gone on sale in the US as the Sentra, as well as China or Thailand, and now it’s finally been made available in its domestic market of Japan. This sedan is built on a new platform, with a more efficient drivetrain and offering improved interior space.
The car uses a new 1.8-liter four-cylider engine which is mated to a next-gen Nissan XTRONIC CVT. The automaker claims fuel economy improved by 16% to 15.6km/L (in JC08 mode) compared to the previous model.

Interior space is enhanced with shoulder room that is increased by 30mm from the previous model. Ride comfort is also improved by reducing vibration with strengthened body rigidity, enhancing quietness and the use of a of a vibration-absorbing suspension. Other features, including a Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) system and air conditioner outlet for the rear seats, which are also offered on Fuga and Teana.

Prices start at JPY1,937,250 yen and go up to JPY2,389,800. The automaker has big plans for this simple-looking sedan, expecting to sell it to 120 markets by 2014. In Japan it is already available at dealerships across the Japan and is built alongside the Juke and the Leaf.
