All-New Mazda 6 Officially Unveiled

The Mazda 6, a car very closely resembling the Takeri concept, is easily one of the prettiest sedans available for any kind of money, anywhere in the world. Its designers have nailed it from every single angle, making it both well-proportioned, curvy, sleek and very sporty-looking.

Thankfully, thanks to some weight shedding and its SKYACTIV engine technology, it will also be one of the best handling and most frugal cars in its class. Step inside, and the progress over the old car is clearly evident. The car gets a very chunky steering wheel, as well as a very simple and elegant high-set dash design, which will make the driver feel cocooned inside and make the driving experience a little bit more enjoyable.

It will be shown in the metal, two days from now, when the Moscow Auto Show starts, on August 31st. However, we are really looking forward to getting one of these for a test drive, and we must admit to having very high expectations of this car which we have been awaiting for a long time and judging by all the technology that is being put into it, as well as the philosophy behind it, we can assume with relative safety that it will be an excellent car.

If Mazda Chief Designer Akira Tamatani’s words are anything to go by, then we are in for a winner - a car with the kind of passion put into it that you used to get from old Alfa Romeos. Tamatani said "We have created a design in which the wild and dynamic expressions of motion artistically realise a powerful presence [. . .] Simply looking at the car heightens one’s expectations about the driving experience even before actually riding in it."
