Lexus chose to reveal its brand new IS sports sedan at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show e few weeks ago. The sexy new car features the company's now ubiquitous spindle grille and L-shaped accents for the headlights. In addition, the new IS features some new design elements it borrowed from a concept called the LF-CC.
Even before the third-gen IS was launch, Lexus made its intentions clear that the LF-CC was previewing one of its future production models.
There can thus be no doubt that the LF-CC is a preview for the next IS sports coupe that should make its debut in a year or two.
Graphics manipulator Theophilus Chin has managed to take the existing shape of the 2014 IS sedan and turn it into a coupe. The most obvious changes are to be found in the side profile of the car, where the taper of the rear window is much more pronounced. The rear quarter panel has a bigger kink than on the sedan, giving the car a sportier look. Still, the IS coupe could do with bigger wheels and a visibly sportier boot lid.
