Our spy photographers have once again taken snaps of the A6 sedan and avant models as they were being tested. While we've know about the facelift for quite some time now, most of the prototypes we've seen had simple xenons or had only the daytime running lights on. This is the very first photo where the actual beams are on and we have to say we're impressed.
The actual area where the LEDs are located has shrunk and is now very straight and narrow.Camouflage is still obstructing our view of the new LED, but we think there are 5 individual pieces that form the system, three for the low beams and two closer to the grille for the high beams. Contrary to what most people believe, not all A8s with LEDs have the Matrix technology, which is a €800 option in Germany. We think it's going to be the same for A6, which will thus offer at least 3 different prices for the headlight unit.

The photos also show the indicators in action, forming a short pulsating wave from one corner to the other.

Round the back, both the sedan and the estate have the same new trapezoidal exhaust system, a great feature that makes the midsize premium sedan look a lot like its more expense brother, the A8.

Since most of the development work appears to be ready, we thing the whole updated A6 family will be revealed later this summer and should be ready to go on sale in the fall.
