All-New 2015 Audi RS3 Gets 430 HP from ABT Sportsline

German tuner ABT Sportsline usually writes a complex press release, complete with a statement from the CEO, every time they have a package ready. However, the new RS3 Sportback got no such attention.

While we were randomly searching through their official website, we discovered that there's an update for the mighty RS3 that nobody knows about. The 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbo engine gets a lot of extra oomph, enough to keep up with the BMW M3.

First of all, power is increased from 367 PS to 430 PS, while torque numbers go up from 465 Nm (343 lb-ft) to an impressive 53 Nm (380 lb-ft).

With the previous generation of the RS3, which also packed a 2.5-liter turbo engine, MTM was the company that managed to squeeze the most ponies without changing the internal components. Their software hack gave the Monaco cruiser 424 ponies, which is only six shy of ABT's work.

Using its 7-speed gearbox and quattro all-wheel drive, the ABT RS3 is capable of rocketing from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4.1 seconds. The Germans have also killed the speed limited that kicked in at 250 km/h, so the hatchback now reaches 285 km/h without problems.

The company CEO Hans-Jürgen says 430 is only the beginning, State 1 if you will. Considering their older 2012 RS3 pushes 470 hp, his statement is hardly surprising.

What comes as a bit of a shock is how little they've done to the Audi in other departments. The exterior features 19-inch five-spoke wheels and black exhaust tips, while the cabin receives new ABT-branded carpets. No big deal!

Perhaps we shouldn't be so surprised and consider the fact that the Audi Exclusive parts catalog features more customization tools than ever. You can have the RS3 with carbon trim or green paint in the same shade of color as a 911 GT3 RS.
