Toyota’s latest attempt to steal some sales away from the likes of the Volkswagen Golf, Ford Focus or Renault Megane, in Europe, the all new Auris, has just received its official pricing information for the UK market. The range kicks off at £14,495 and rises to £21,745 for the range topping hybrid model.
The new Auris also brings forth a new trim level grading structure, starting off with Active, followed by Icon, Sport, and finally Excel. The most basic trim gives the Auris automatic air-con, electric front windows, USB connectivity, as well as hill-start assist, ESP and LED DRLs. In active trim, the Auris is only available with either the 1.33-liter petrol unit, or a 1.4-liter D-4D diesel.

Move up to Icon and you are treated to a six speaker audio system with digital capability, Bluetooth connectivity, rear-view parking camera, rear electric windows, fog lamps and 16-inch alloys. Move even further up, and opt for Sport, and your car will get 17-inch alloys, sports front seats, darkened rear windows, a revised front grille and a rear diffuser.

If, however, you just want the range topper, Excel models feature dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and engine start, rain sensing wipers and automatic headlights, as well as part-leather heated front seats. The engine range will consist of four distinct powertrains: the familiar 1.33-liter petrol engine, 1.4-liter diesel, 1.6-liter ‘Valvetronic’ petrol unit, and the hybrid.
