The electric motor with which it is equipped only develops 100 hp (75 kW), yet has a torque figure of 240 Nm, which is 35 Nm up on the conventionally-powered car. Furthermore, it is 202 kg heavier than the regular car, as well, tipping the scales at 1,460 kg, versus 1,258 kg.
It draws juice from a 37 kWh lithium polymer battery pack, which gives it a maximum range of about 250 km. The car was recently driven around the Suzuka track, in Japan, where it posted a lap time of 2:57.0588, which is around seven seconds slower than a Honda NSX (the slowest car we found a record of, to have been clocked around the track).
We wonder, though, with cars such as EV West’s all-electric M3 being an extremely potent machine, why did the people who built this only give it 100 hp? They could have at least matched what the car originally came with, or even surpass it, slightly, to give it a comparable power/weight ration.
