Alfa Romeo Vittorio Jano Concept

There's something about an Alfa that really resonates with car designer. We've seen so far several concepts based on Alfa models, some more interesting than others, but it appears none comes even close to the Vittorio Jano, the first of what design studio MPcardesing hopes to be an entire line of virtual Alfas.

Named after Vittorio Jano, a Hungarian race car designer who worked for Alfa in the 1920s, the concept comes boasting lines both common and unusual for the Italian brand. A touch of 8C Competizione, a taste of 156 and 159 and a bit of fastback cues make the Vittorio Jano an interesting possible future Alfa.

Designed by Marco Procaccini to be the successor of the 159, the concept measures 4,650mm in length, 1,830mm in width and 1,400mm in height and can seat four passengers.

Obviously, being a concept, there are no actual details on what may possibly be featured under its hood. We can't but imagine it however as an electric vehicle. The 1750 Turbo Benzina 200 CV featured on the Alfa 159 autoevolution tested earlier this year would not shame it either.

The Vittorio Jano concept is however only the beginning. As said, Procaccini plans to roll out an entire line of Alfas, with this concept only being meant to open our appetite. In the near future, a compact sport coupe, a sport wagon and a supercar concept based on this one will hit the web.

Another promise made by the designer is that the concept has been created with mass production in mind, and not just as a means to advertise his skills. The only thing that's left is Alfa picking up on the idea.
