The Fiat-Chrysler Group announced just the other moment that Alfa Romeo will be sold in the United States and Canada through 86 showrooms, with additional franchises to be awarded later this year.
According to an official statement from the Italian carmaker, 33 states will get 82 Alfa Romeo dealerships this June, while Canadian Alfisti will see just 4 dealer locations at first. The initial pool of dealers is drawn from existing Fiat and Maserati brand showrooms.

California, Texas and Florida will boast the highest concentration of dealerships in North American. So what does the iconic manufacturer have to offer on its grand return to the United States of America? Mind our straightforwardness, but it's not the lineup we've been expecting.

Even though the brand has been absent from this country for 18 years or so, the Italians return with a single-vehicle lineup, consisting of the 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C. The mid-engined sports car will be offered at first in a limited Launch Edition version, that boasts very minor hardware and aesthetic modifications over the standard model.

Pricing hasn't been announced as of yet, but we presume the US-spec Alfa Romeo 4C will sport a base MSRP from something like $54,000, which is top dollar considering this two-seater car is powered by a 1.75-liter four-pot turbo developing 240 horsepower. Don't get us wrong, but $52k will get you a brand new Chevrolet C7 Corvette.

Nevertheless, Alfa Romeo declared that North America will get circa 3,500 units of the 4C mid-engined sports car each year. We remind you that the curious looking thing can do the 0 to 60 mph sprint in a mere 4.5 seconds. How is that possible? A lightweight carbon fiber construction and seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox is the answer.

PS: you might want to wait until 2015 before you get one because that's when Alfa will rollout the 4C Spider.
