While we had been speculating for quite some time on the possible reveal date for Alfa Romeo’s sporty 4C, we finally have some official confirmation. The Italian automaker has just released a teaser for the upcoming mid-engined car, which announces it as ‘the car to end all cars’ and that it ‘won’t disappoint’, when it finally arrives some time next year.
The production car will share its basic design with the 4C concept, and will most likely be powered by a version of the 1.8-liter turbocharged engine, which currently powers the hot Giulietta QV. Under the bonnet of Alfa’s hatch, the engine pumps out an impressive 230 hp, and propels the car from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.8 seconds.

However, the 4C is expected to be considerably lighter than the Giulietta’s 1,320 kg, and will also be able to cut through the air better. This means performance should be much improved, and a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time of under five seconds is not far fetched.

Still, we hope Alfa thoroughly mean the ‘will not disappoint part’, as this car is crucial for their image, which they need to be good, in order to sell the nine new models they currently have in the pipeline.
