Although Alfa initially launched a contest on the internet in order to find a name for it's new model, the final decision only took into consideration the genesis of the car. Designed in Milan and due to be produced in Turin, the Mi.To translates as "myth" from Italian.
As the first new model conceived after the fabulous 8C Competitione supercar, the Mi.To borrows its looks from the bigger exotic brother, starting with the front bumper and headlights, continuing with the unframed side windows and finishing with the LED tail lights, as a preview of the sporty nature of the little model.
Although small in size with 4.06 metres long, 1.44 metres high and 1.72 metres wide, the Mi.To will be strong in spirit, as great performance is guaranteed by the four turbo engines available, (turbo and petrol) with power ranging from 90 to 155 Hp and also by a special system that Alfa will introduce as a premier on the midget model. Similar to the one found on Ferraris, it will control the behavior of the engine, brakes, steering, suspension and gearbox, allowing three different settings depending on the driving style: supersporting (Dynamic), town driving (Normal), maximum safety in difficult grip conditions (All-Weather).
In line with all the sport character of the car is also the VDC stability control system which comes as standard and a vehicle structure designed top EuroNCAP safety ratings in future tests.
According to the producer, the junior Alfa will be introduced to the press in June, followed by the launch on major markets in July, with the promise of an ever higher powered version later on.
