Alfa Romeo seem to have a knack at postponing and canceling stuff. Now, after having postponed and nearly canceled the Giulia (159 replacement), it’s now time for the MiTo to get the same news.
The current car was launched in 2008 and has suffered absolutely no modifications, with the exception of the addition of the TwinAir motor. According to autoedizione.com, the current car will remain in production unchanged, as its replacement is now officially delayed, it seems.

Talks about a new 5-door model to sit below the Giulietta have commenced, but nothing has been confirmed yet. One theory is that it may be co-developed along with Mazda, a brand which is just as good at making small and efficient city cars.

We just hope that nothing happens to the plans involving the larger Giulia model which is set to make its debut in 2014. However, knowing Alfa, it will probably be postponed, though!
