Alfa Romeo "Great Wave" by Garage Italia Customs Is a Denim Tsunami

I have nothing against jeans. In fact, like many of you guys, that's pretty much the only thing I wear (not in a Jay Leno way). However, there hasn't been a moment when I thought "hmmm, that's what I want on the seat of my Alfa Romeo 4C."

I don't have an Alfa Romeo 4C, but that won't stop me from enjoying this cool yet odd project from Garage Italia Customs.

We don't know what made them decide to connect a mid-engined Italian sportscar with one of the most famous pieces of Japanese art ever made. But it could be that they were inspired by the collaboration between Mazda and Fiat.

Garage Italia seems to specialize in vehicles from the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. However, they recently made the Futurism edition for BMW i8, which was... interesting, to say the least.

In case you didn't know, "Great Wave" is a traditional Japanse art piece by Katsushika Hokusai and dates back to the 19th century. We would tell you what it's about, but really, you can see for yourselves.

From a stylish sports coupe, the 4C has gone to something that looks like it belongs on the bathroom wall. As we've mentioned already, the interior is covered in denim, Japanese denim to be more precise, which is joined by some Foglizzo fine leather.

If you want to check it out for yourselves and live in California, we have great news because Alfa Romeo 4C Great Wave is set to go on display at Piston Head II: Artists Engage The Automobile, at the Venus Gallery of Los Angeles from July 30th until the 10th of September. But for everybody else, this will remain an internet oddity that makes no sense, like clothes for cats or clothes for people that want to look like cats.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
