The original compact Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint is celebrating its 60th birthday and the automaker is putting out a special edition current generation model to commemorate this milestone.
In the UK at least, the new Giulietta Sprint will reach dealerships at the beginning of 2015 starting at £20,490 OTR. It might be very different from the original two-door coupe from 1954, but at least it’s powered by a sub 1,400 cc gasoline engine, the same as back in the day. Only that now it makes 150 hp and 250 Nm, which unfortunately get sent to the front.

Standard features include new 17-inch five-hole alloy wheels, black window surrounds, tinted windows, darkened headlight surrounds and fog lamps, dark Anthracite exterior finishing on the grille, mirrors and door handles, special badging, sports rear diffuser and an oversized exhaust trim.

For the interior you get cloth and alcantara seats with Sprint logo and height adjustment for the driver, sports instruments with white illumination, carbon effect dashboard and door panels, darkened headlining as well as floor mats with red stitching.

Of course, the Sprint pack can be further enhanced via optionals like special/metallic paint (£510), electric double sunroof (£1,200), Bi-Xenon headlights with washers (£930), rear parking sensors with multifunctional display (£260), dual zone climate control (£450), cruise control (£260), aluminum sports pedals (£160), a BOSE ten-speaker sound system (£820), Uconnect 6.5-inch infotainment with sat nav (£1,050) as well as a Visibility Pack (dusk and rain sensors, electro-chromatic mirror and power-folding side mirrors - £320).

Regarding the power, the 1.4-liter MultiAir unit will take you 62 mph (100 km/h) in 8.2 seconds and up to a maximum speed of 130 mph (209 km/h), while still achieving a combined fuel efficiency of 49.6 mpg UK (5.7 l/100 km or 41.3 mpg US).
