Alfa Romeo only has two cars on offer right now, the Giulietta and the MiTo, both of them hatchbacks with city car ambitions. Gone are the days of the 3.2-liter V6 (in front wheel drive cars), as Fiat Group is implementing ever more frugal engines.
The Italian automaker has launched a new engine, which is basically a detuned version of the 1.4-liter 120 PS turbo, this time only producing only 105 PS. The model that will be available across the European market will offer a standard sprint time of 10.6 seconds and a max speed of 185 km/h.
In combination with a six-speed gearbox, the four-banger will return 6.4 L/100km on the combined cycle (44,1 mpg UK), while emitting an unimpressive emissions figure of 149 g/km.
