Alfa Romeo recently held a private event in Italy to showcase the most exciting car they've launched in a decade. The Giulia QV is not only beautiful, but it also competes with the BMW M3 and Mercedes-AMG C63.

With that kind of portfolio, the Italian supermodel should also sound good, right? And it does. Up next, we're going to show you a video made by Youtuber Marchettino where the sports sedan roars into life, like a lion that got up on the wrong side of the bed.

Four massive exhaust pipes channel the sound from a Ferrari-derived turbocharged six-cylinder engine with 510 PS (375 kW). Not surprisingly, it sounds a lot like the V6 engines used by the Maserati Ghibli.

Alfa Romeo doesn't have a million-euro DTM car like Audi and BMW. The Giulia QV does have the right family name and a very impressive Nurburgring lap: 7 minutes and 42 seconds.

It can also keep up with the Germans in a straight line, as the 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes only 3.9 seconds. But that's not as impressive as the rumored top speed of nearly 200 mph (321 km/h). You can't do that in your electronically limited RS5, can you?

While we are quietly optimistic about the future of this fantastic Italian car, things haven't been going that well for Fiat's brands. After an initial surge in demand, Maserati has significantly reduced production of the two new sedans. The lightweight and agile 4C has not attracted any famous buyers, and its refinement levels have been described as being well below those of the Porsche Cayman.

On looks alone, the Giulia is going to be different. It's so exotic looking that it puts all its German rivals to shame while the starting price should be well below that of the equivalent Ghibli. Marchettino says "you have to see it in the flesh to appreciate its design because pictures and renders don't do justice." We can't ask for a better review than that.
