The future Alfa Romeo Giulia is the source of much speculation, as well as actual facts. Rumors ranging from it being RWD to it not being made at all have been circulating around the web and have gathered momentum, especially since Alfa no longer make the 159 - the car which it replaces.
However, according to autoedizione.com, the Chief Designer of the project, Lorenzo Ramaciotti is, as you are reading this, putting the final design touches for the new Giulia. The car is expected to be offered as both a sedan as an estate, being powered by the Fiat Group’s wide range of engines, from the 1.4-lilter turbo, all the way up to the 3.2-liter V6, plus the excellent diesels they have at their disposal.

The car is rumored to be revealed some time after the middle of next year, with customer deliveries beginning in 2014. Another speculation surrounding the new car is the fact that, to make money off their cars in the States, Alfa Romeo will need to build them there (including the Giulia) - or at least the necessary number for the (very excited) US market.
