It’s been less than a week since UK pricing for the brand new 4C sportscar has been announced, and Italian automaker has revealed that the highly-anticipated vehicle will become available on the US market with prices starting from $54,000.
The aforementioned retail price was confirmed to Auto Guide by Alfa Romeo PR representative Davide Kluzer, which means potential US customers will have to wait a while longer until the Italian automaker releases detailed pricing info. For now, all we know is the 4C will cost $1,400 more than a Porsche Cayman.
As a reminder, the Alfa Romeo 4C is scheduled to hit US dealerships in the second quarter of 2014 and will mark the company’s return to North America. The small sportscar is powered by a turbocharged 1.75-liter four-cylinder that delivers 240 HP to the rear wheels. Thanks to its reduced weight, rated at around 2,000 pounds, the 4C can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in only 4.5 seconds.
