Alfa Romeo 4C Spider 33 Stradale Tributo Unveiled, Just 33 Specials Reaching U.S

Only a couple of weeks are left until the year ends, and all carmakers already said and showed what they needed to say and show. At least that’s what we thought until Alfa Romeo unzipped the gift bags and pulled out a Christmas special.

As most of us are already thinking of other things, the Italians are still at work, it seems, and their laboratories in Modena just spat out a very special version of the 4C Spider (the last one, maybe), one that pays tribute to the 33 Stradale, the extremely rare and iconic Italian mid-engined sports car of the late 1960s.

As it usually happens in these cases, the special edition is a limited one. The run has been capped for the U.S. market to just 33 units, all available with a series of enhancements meant to set them apart from the other 4C Spiders.

Wrapped in an exclusive tri-coat paint, Rosso Villa d’Este, the tribute car comes with unique exterior and interior appointments. They include gray-gold 5-hole alloy wheels for a touch of stylish bling, black-and-tobacco suede and leather inside, and the usual assortment of badges and plaques that attest to the car’s special place in history.

No changes were made to the powertrain, so we have the usual 1.75-liter turbocharged engine spitting out 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque through a 6-speed twin-clutch transmission.

“Since its introduction in 2014, the 4C has been a halo vehicle for Alfa Romeo, exciting enthusiasts around the world and spearheading the relaunch of the brand in North America,” said in a statement Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo.

“The 4C Spider 33 Stradale Tributo is an instant Alfa Romeo classic that passes the torch to the next generation of iconic Alfa Romeo vehicles, including the upcoming Tonale PHEV crossover that will start production next year.”

We’re told the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider 33 Stradale Tributo is already available for order at select dealers. The starting price for each of the 33 units is $79,995.
