Alfa Romeo 4C Speeds Past on Michigan Highway

It is no longer a secret that Alfa Romeo has big plans for the US market, where it plans to sell itself as a premium maker of sporty cars, to rival the likes of BMW in terms of image (our opinion), but with a dash more ‘sould and passion’ thrown into the mix.
The car they want to present as the image this ambitious US offensive is the sporty and curvaceous mid-engined 4C. It will get a very quick and very efficient 1.75-liter turbocharged engine, straight out of the Alfa Giulietta QV (which we tested), and it is expected to put out the same 230-ish hp. Power will be sent to the rear wheels via either a manual six-speed gearbox, or Alfa’s dual-clutch setup.

A heavily-camouflaged example of the production version of the 4C was recently spotted on a Michigan highway, and was recored on video by an autoweek.com reader who lived in the area.

Despite the heavy camouflage, it is clear that the same sexy shapes of the concept are still there untouched, and we expect the car to be all-but identical - it will end up being one of the prettiest cars on sale anywhere in the world, we say...

The car is set to be revealed this summer.
