Alfa Romeo 4C Delayed to 2014

Was there really an Alfa Romeo sportscar called the 4C or did we imagine it? That’s the sort of though we’re having and we suspect many of our readers are doing the same.

Alfa Romeo’s return to the US has already been pushed back to next year, and it might not even bring the 4C with it. You see, our spy photographers captured the Giulietta near Detroit recently, and we expect it will be produced there together with the Giulia sedan. So where does that place the two-seater?

According to AutoCar, the production version of the car will only arrive at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show. The British publication even states that the whole Alfa Romeo arrival is to be delayed until the Michigan venue taking place roughly two years from now.

This negates one of their previous reports that stated the 4C sports car is set to be brought to the world as a prototype during the middle of 2012 and enter the market in its final form in 2013.

The good news is that Alfa isn’t being left for dead, as the company will expand its lineup to also include the five-door Mito, a new Spider, a new sedan and wagon to replace the 159, a crossover and a new flagship sedan called the 6C.

We’re not sure if Alfa Will indeed be delayed that much, but the best way to tell is to wait for the appointment of a US operations chief.
