Alfa Romeo of today can’t even hold a candle to the awe-inspiring carmaker it was until the dusk of the 1980s. Its lineup is comprised of just three cars: the MiTo, the Giulietta and the 4C. To be completely honest, only the latter lives up to Alfisti expectations.
It’s beautifully styled, it packs a creamy turbocharged 1.75-liter four-cylinder from the Giulietta QV with 241 horsepower, it can sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.5 seconds and it weighs a featherweight 995 kilos. Those are impressive figures, alright, but what would you say about a 4C with 738 horsepower?

More specifically 738 horsepower and a staggering 720 Nm of torque (532 lb-ft)? Baptized the 4C Definitiva by tuning firm Lazzarini Design, this mid-engined brute doesn’t have it’s original four-pot turbo. Instead, the tuner swapped that peppy engine with a 4.3L Ferrari V8 sourced from the now extinct F430. But this mill isn’t the standard naturally aspirated V8 one might find on the 458’s predecessor.

If you look closely, you’ll see a pair of big turbos and some Hennessey lettering

In addition to the power hike, just look at it’s outlandish styling - it’s a frenzy of carbon fiber, vents, aero and badassery. And it’s hard to say no to the rendering depicting the 4C Definitiva in Martini Racing livery. Although the car is still in development, the tuning outfit estimates that the first working prototype will be ready in just a few months’ time. What about pricing?

A highly customized machine such as the Alfa 4C from the gallery below isn’t exactly a cheap and cheerful ride. The Lazzarini Design team estimates that the 4C Definitiva will cost around €250,000 or $310,900 / £196,850 at current rates, which is a lot of money compared to the €53,990 of a box standard 4C.

Don’t forget to look on the fun side of things though - this aggressive Alfa will do the 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) acceleration run in 2.5 seconds and complete the quarter mile in 9.5. By comparison, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse does the previously mentioned in 2.4 and 9.9 seconds, respectively.
